Trust in God: Your Refuge in Times of Trouble - Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.

Psalm 46:1 (CSB)

A refuge is a place of shelter and security. In verses two and three of Psalm 46, the Psalmist illustrates how big of a refuge God is. The earth could shake, mountains could topple into the ocean’s depths, and we would still be okay. Amid the storms of life, it is easy not to trust God. It always seems easier to rely on our wits and power. However, if we trust in God, we need not worry. In times of trouble, we may fool ourselves into thinking we have it all under control. In reality, we can do nothing without God. Things will likely go wrong when we turn our trust away from Him. Learn to trust in the Lord. He is the refuge that we can run to when everything else is against us. The verse reminds us that He is always found in times of trouble. He is always near us and never too far out of reach.

Prayer

Father, I know you will never leave me in trouble. Please give me strength and comfort in any time of trouble I am going through. Father, remind me of how close you are to me and that I have nothing to fear when you are near. Embolden me, Father, to walk through times of trouble by your side. I believe in the promise that you will always be found no matter what I am going through. Amen.

How can I pray for you? Let me know by sending me an email through my contacts page.
